Vanconol® amine TOH is an alkyl imidazoline structured organic intermediate with excellent thermal stability. Unneutralized amine TOH is hydrophobic and soluble in organic solvents, non-polar solvents, and mineral oil. The imidazoline ring structure allows it to form strong adsorption on metals, fibers, plastics, glass, and mineral surfaces, converting hydrophilic surfaces to hydrophobic ones through a dense molecular film.

When neutralized as salt, it remains stable in acidic conditions, reducing surface tension and providing cationic dispersing properties for powder material modification.
