Product Description

Potassium Trimethylsilanolate / Potassium methyl-silicate / Potassium methylsilanetriolate / Trimethylsilanol potassium salt

Silway 715 is an aqueous solution of potassium methyl siliconate and is used in diluted form for the hydrophobic impregnation of mineral construction materials to make them water-repellent. The siliconate reacts with carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air to form an insoluble water-resistant treatment within 24 hours. Silway 715 is designed to impart water repellency to a wide variety of substances, especially the waterproof of the porous substrate.

Application & Use Guide

Surface Treatment: Dilute Silway 715 21-25 times with water. Clean dust and oil from the substrate, then spray the diluted mixture. Cure for at least 1 day.

Tile Impregnation: Dilute Silway 715 60 times with water. Impregnate tiles for 60 seconds and cure for at least 1 day.

Suitable For: Bricks, tiles, concrete pavements, lanes, and water-absorbing minerals like perlite.

Storage & Handling

Silway 715 must be stored in tightly closed original containers, preferably stainless steel, plastic, or glass. Note: Tinplate, aluminum, galvanized or lacquered containers are not suitable. If crystals form due to low temperatures, warm and stir thoroughly to redissolve.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does Silway 715 create a waterproof barrier?
It reacts with carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air to form an insoluble water-resistant treatment within the substrate within 24 hours.
What is the expected lifespan of the waterproofing treatment?
The waterproof protection typically lasts between 3 to 5 years depending on the substrate and environment.
What is the recommended dilution ratio for general surface spraying?
For standard surface treatment, it is recommended to dilute Silway 715 with water at a ratio of 1:21 to 1:25.
Will it change the color of my bricks or stone?
No, Silway 715 provides colorless protection that preserves the natural appearance of the masonry materials.
What containers are safe for storing this product?
You should use stainless steel drums, plastic, or glass containers. Avoid aluminum or galvanized containers as they are not compatible.
