Product Description

Hollow glass microspheres are used as filler of ultra-high molecular polyethylene. It is not only used as solid lubricant in process, but can modify the comprehensive mechanical properties of the ultra-high molecular polyethylene to improve its strength and abrasion resistance.

Nylon 6 Application: Improved tensile strength, impact strength, and hardness. Prevents material aging caused by light and heat. Ideal for bearings, cameras, and furniture accessories.

PVC Integration: Added into rigid PVC for profiled materials, pipes, and plates to improve dimensional stability, rigidity, and heat resistance.

ABS Filler: Reduces shrinkage and improves compressive strength and flexural modulus. Widely used in TV cabinets and automotive plastic parts.

Epoxy Resin & Polyester: Reduces viscosity and improves mechanical properties for deep-sea submarines, lifeboats, and FRP products.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the main benefits of using hollow glass microspheres?
They act as a lightweight filler that reduces material weight, improves flowability (ball-bearing effect), enhances thermal insulation, and increases dimensional stability in various polymers.
Can these microspheres be used in high-pressure applications?
Yes, different grades like HGM60 offer crush strengths up to 69MPa (10,000 psi), making them suitable for deep-sea applications and high-pressure molding.
How do they affect the viscosity of resin systems?
Due to their spherical shape, they reduce internal friction within the resin, typically lowering the viscosity compared to irregularly shaped fillers.
What is the composition of these microspheres?
They are made from Soda Lime Borosilicate Glass, ensuring chemical stability and high purity (98%).
What is the typical particle size range?
Depending on the grade, the median particle size (50th percentile) ranges from 40μm to 65μm.
Are they resistant to heat?
Yes, they have a high melting point of approximately 625°C, allowing them to be processed in various thermoplastic and thermoset systems.
