Frequently Asked Questions
How strong is this glue?
The right glue, properly applied, will give you a permanent fix as strong as any mechanical device. It is specified by engineers, builders, and manufacturers.
When is it safe to use what I've repaired?
All glues have a period over which the bond strength increases to its maximum. For AW106, the cured time is typically 12-24 hours. Check the pack for specific details.
Will the adhesive cure at low temperatures?
It is not recommended for use below 10°C. Standard curing times are based on 23°C; lower temperatures will significantly extend the curing time.
Are there materials that cannot be bonded?
Yes, plastics like Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE), and PTFE cannot be bonded with this epoxy.
How do I remove cured residues?
Cured residue may be removed by immersion in commercial paint strippers for up to 24 hours. Note that these chemicals may be hazardous or attack the substrate.
Why is the surface of the cured epoxy sticky?
Under certain conditions, the hardener reacts with carbon dioxide in the air, leaving a sticky layer. This doesn't mean it's uncured; the layer can usually be removed with a wet cloth.
