Sodium gluconate is an organic substance with the chemical formula C6H13NaO7. It is extensively used in construction, textile printing, dyeing, and metal surface treatment industries. It acts as an efficient chelating agent, steel surface cleaning agent, and a high-efficiency retarder in the concrete industry.
The outstanding property of sodium gluconate is its excellent chelating power, especially in alkaline solutions. It forms stable chelates with calcium, iron, copper, and aluminium, surpassing other agents like EDTA and NTA.
Concrete Admixture: Used as a water-reducing agent and retarder. It improves workability, reduces slump loss, and enhances later strength.
Textile & Dyeing: Acts as a reducing agent, complexing agent, and pH regulator to improve dyeing uniformity and affinity.
